Offered by City Harvest Community Services Association (CHCSA), the Social Service Tribe Study Award provides students from qualifying courses of study with the opportunity to pursue a meaningful career in social service.

The award supports both full-term and mid-term applications. Upon completion of your studies, you will serve a bond with CHCSA—the bond duration depends on the type of study award.

Supported Courses of Study

Interested applicants should pursue full-time undergraduate or postgraduate studies from local universities in the following courses of study:

  • Undergraduate Programme

    Social Work

  • Diploma and Professional Qualification

    Social Work, Community Care and Social Services

Eligibility

  • Be a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident who is willing to take up Singapore Citizenship
  • Be a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate student who has gained admission into one of the supported courses of study in a local institution recognised by professional associations
  • Currently not be a full-time employee at any organisation
  • Currently not be receiving any scholarships or sponsorships
  • Have a recommended GPA of minimum 60%
  • Be able to serve a bond period with CHCSA upon graduation
  • For the mid-term study award: applicant must apply by the first semester of their final academic year

Commitment

  • You will serve a bond with CHCSA after completion of your studies
  • The bond duration depends on the type of study award (full-term or mid-term)

  • Current academic transcript
  • A copy of the transcript from your highest obtained qualification prior to your current programme (e.g. diploma or equivalent)
  • Expected graduation date
  • A list of other eldercare/social work settings you've observed or trained in (if any)
  • A write-up on your motivation for seeking the Social Service Tribe Study Award
